MortgageClear is a local-first calculator. We do not operate a backend server for this app, and the app does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal identifying information to use any feature.
We do not collect, and have no access to:
To use MortgageClear's calculators, you enter loan details such as property value, down payment, interest rate, loan term, and optional details like property tax, home insurance, PMI, and HOA fees. You may also assign a nickname to a loan (e.g., "Main Residence") and select a U.S. state for tax/insurance estimates.
All of this information is stored exclusively on your device, in the app's local storage (the iOS Documents directory), using a standard on-device data file. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party. We have no ability to view, access, or recover this data — if you delete the app, this data is permanently deleted along with it, and we cannot restore it.
MortgageClear lets you export loan data as a PDF summary or CSV amortization schedule. When you use this feature, the app generates the file on your device and hands it to Apple's standard system share sheet. Where that exported file goes next — email, Files app, AirDrop, cloud storage, printing, or elsewhere — is entirely your choice, made through Apple's share sheet. MortgageClear itself does not upload, transmit, or otherwise send this file anywhere on your behalf.
MortgageClear includes a bundled reference dataset of state-level average property tax rates and home insurance premiums, used only to pre-fill estimated values when you select a state. This dataset ships inside the app itself and is not fetched from any server, does not involve your personal data in any way, and does not change based on anything you enter.
MortgageClear does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not use tools such as AdMob, Facebook SDK, Google Analytics, or similar services. The only third-party system involved when you use the export feature is Apple's own system share sheet, governed by Apple's own privacy practices.
MortgageClear is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children. Because the app does not collect data from any user regardless of age, this is not a practical concern, but we state it here for clarity.
Because all data lives only on your device, you are always in full control of it. To delete all data created by MortgageClear, simply delete the app from your device. Since we do not retain any copy of your data on any server, there is no separate deletion request process — deleting the app is deletion of your data.
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds an optional cloud sync feature — we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
